How Baito took The Fantastic Four: First Steps on the road in Kuala Lumpur
A coffee bar in a vintage Kombi, a stage truck with its own LED screen, and a crew working the crowd at a KL night market. That was the roving pop-up for The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
The film opened in Malaysian cinemas on 24 July 2025, and both vehicles carried the date. The pop-up ran at three locations in Kuala Lumpur: Pingmin Hub, The Exchange TRX and The Campus Ampang.
Baito worked for FrameMotion Studio as its production and on-ground partner. We supplied and wrapped both vehicles, served the drinks, brought in the DJ, emcees and crew, laid out the site and the AV, and handled the permits and music licences behind it all.
Locations are from the event permit and emcee schedule, and from Baito’s recap film; only the Pingmin Hub stop is photographed here. The two wrapped vehicles are a Kombi café and a 20 ft LED stage truck. Attendees and ticket sales are reported campaign figures.
01The brief
Two vehicles.
Three stops in KL.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps opened in Malaysian cinemas on 24 July 2025. FrameMotion Studio brought Baito in to take the film’s world on the road in Kuala Lumpur.
The pop-up was built around two vehicles in the film’s blue: Baito’s vintage Kombi, wrapped and fitted out as the Galactic Cafe, and a 20 ft LED stage truck, wrapped inside and out. Around them went turf, wooden benches and tables, cube seats, parasols, string lights and easel standees.
The run covered three locations: Pingmin Hub, The Exchange TRX and The Campus Ampang. Baito plotted the locations, moved the truck, the Kombi and the roving team, and set up and took down the site.
02Galactic Cafe
A coffee bar
in a vintage Kombi.
Baito’s vintage Kombi, wrapped in the film’s blue livery, became the Galactic Cafe. Its serving hatch opened onto an espresso machine, and an A-frame out front read ‘Redeem your coffee now!’, with three choices: Black, Chocolate and Latte.
Every cup carried a Fantastic Four ‘4’ sticker, so the film went wherever the drinks did. At Pingmin Hub, guests queued at the Kombi’s turf-topped counter from late afternoon into the night.
Baito supplied the Kombi, its full wrap, the cup stickers and the drinks.
03Stage truck
A truck wrapped
inside and out.
The second vehicle was a 20 ft LED stage truck, wrapped inside and out. Outside, the wrap carried the film’s heroes and the 24 July release date. Inside, the stage was dressed as a retro set, with a vintage TV and a DJ deck.
Above the stage, the LED screen ran film footage and cinema ticket offers, such as a set of exclusive collectible cards with every four movie tickets.
Baito supplied the truck and its full wrap, inside and out.
04On the floor
A crew working
the crowd.
Baito’s crew, in white tees, worked the crowd with Fantastic Four placards and ‘Purchase tickets here’ boards. They also carried Fantastic Four-branded cinema vouchers worth RM10 off food and drinks.
Inside the truck, guests took turns at a timed punch game: punch the pad to fill a progress bar before the countdown runs out.

05Pingmin Hub
Into a KL
night market.
On 20 July 2025 the pop-up took over part of Pingmin Hub, a night market in Kuala Lumpur, from late afternoon into the night.
After dark, a DJ played from the deck on the truck and an emcee hosted from its stage on a retro microphone. Guests filled the benches and cube seats under the string lights.
Baito brought in the DJ and the emcees, set up the AV, and arranged and managed the floor. We also handled the DBKL permit for the three locations, and the PPM and MACP music licences.

Pingmin Hub · The Exchange TRX · The Campus Ampang · July 2025
The pop-up ran at three locations in Kuala Lumpur in July 2025: Pingmin Hub, The Exchange TRX and The Campus Ampang. Two wrapped vehicles carried it: the Galactic Cafe Kombi and the 20 ft LED stage truck.
Baito delivered eight services: location plotting, refreshment beverages, the Kombi, the truck, the DJ, manpower and crew, floor arrangement and management, and AV set-up. The emcees, transport, set-up and dismantle, and the permits and music licences sat alongside them.
The campaign reported more than 6,500 attendees and over 2,000 ticket sales.
For agencies planning a film launch or a roving pop-up, the value is one partner for the vehicles, the build, the crew and the paperwork: a set that packs up and opens again at the next location.
